Martin Luther King, Jr. Day 2025 Holiday ScheduleOn Monday, January 20, 2025, the Miami-Dade Department of Solid Waste Management (DSWM) will not collect waste, and all DSWM disposal facilities will be closed.
Recycling collection will operate as scheduled—residents with Monday recycling should place blue carts at the curb by 7 a.m.
DSWM Administrative offices will be closed. However, WM, Inc.’s Medley Landfill will remain open during regular hours.
For more information, call 311 or visit Miami-Dade Department of Solid Waste- The SR 916/NW 135 Street/NW 136 Street Phase 2 Road Closure is part of an ongoing roadway project in Miami, Florida. This phase, which began on December 17, 2024, involves constructing the new northwest-bound portion of the Opa-locka Boulevard Connector and is expected to last two to three months. Access to businesses along northwest Opa-locka Boulevard remains open, and the speed limit in the work zone is 35 mph. Motorists are advised to follow posted detour signs, as delays may occur. Weather or unexpected conditions may alter the schedule.
