The Honorable Timothy Holmes is the epitome of leadership in the great City of Opalocka. The veteran commissioner has been in office since November 1994 having served as both Vice Mayor and City Commissioner. He loves serving his community and is an advocate for senior citizens and the youth of his City.

His legislative decisions are based solely on what he believes is best for the citizens and the community. Over the years he has passed legislation for drainage improvements, street improvements, repair potholes, capital improvement plans, budgetary concerns, community development, infrastructure, and hiring more police officers.

Commissioner Holmes highest priority at this time is Public Safety. As Police Commissioner, he wants to make certain that every citizen and resident of Opa-Locka live in a safe environment.

Commissioner Holmes recently supported legislation for a computerized records management system for the Police Department and supported a resolution to purchased new police cars. He stated that he would like the Opa-Locka Police Department equipped with any and all technology necessary for a community free of crime and drugs, and he would do whatever it takes to see that the officers of the Police Department are not in harm's way while patrolling to protect and serve the city.

The Honorable Timothy Holmes is indeed the epitome of a leader. He is an innovator and the hardest working commissioner in the Great City of Opa-Locka. In 2007 Commissioner Holmes implemented legislation to ban the wearing of saggy apparel in the Great City of Opa-Locka.
