Opa-locka officials will hold a Town Hall Meeting to garner residential input and recommendations about citizen boards structure and proposed city-wide fees changes on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 6:00pm in the Municipal Complex, 2nd floor chamber, 780 Fisherman Street.
Opa-locka residents voted for a new charter in November elections, which automatically decommissioned all existing boards. To move forward with establishing boards that serve the community, Opa-locka elected officials are seeking citizen input at the Town Hall Meeting initiated by Vice Mayor Joseph L. Kelley.
At the same time, city officials will also discuss city-wide proposed fee amendments. The presentation includes some new fees for public works and community development services. Other fees that could see changes include permit fees, business tax receipts, parks and recreation facility use fees, and landlord permit. A chart listing the proposed fee schedule will be available to the public at the Town Hall Meeting.
